Gyaru Basics~2

 PART 2

GYARU DICTIONARY

Hi~!૮₍´。ᵔ ꈊ ᵔ。`₎ა Today, I'm going to explain some terminology associated with gyaru. In previous post I briefly explained the substyles so I won't contain it here.

💋 Kuro gyaru - Kuro gyaru (literally "black gyaru") is a term for dark skinned gals. If you tan or are naturally dark skin you're automatically a kuro gyaru no matter of substyle~
💋 Shiro gyaru - Shiro gyaru is the opposite of kuro gyaru. Shiro (meaning 'white") refers to gals who follow the fashion rules of chosen substyle, but don't tan or even avoid sun to stay pale~
💋Gyaruo - male gyaru

💋 Gaijin (foreigner) gyaru - Gyaru who are not Japanese~

💋 Brando - Japanese pronounciation of the word "brand", in gal community means a Japanese gyaru clothing brand.

💋 Droop - empty Space between lower eyelid and makeup. Droop is the main characteristic of gyaru makeup that is necessary in most of the substyles to enlarge and round the eye shape.
💋 Gyarusa/Galsa - "gyaru circle". Gyarusa is a group of gyaru friends that works similiar to a club. Activieties contain meets, dancing parapara and simply having fun~

💋 Parapara - a dance style mostly focused on arm and hand movements, generally to eurobeat music.

💋 Purikura - Japanese photo booths that blur the skin and hair and has filters that make the model look super dolly. Purikura are very customisable and after taking photos you can customize it~! The printed photos are in a form of stickers so you can optionally cut and stick it~ I will make a post about my experience.
💋 Gyaru kei - style that fits the basic gyaru rules but doesn't fit any existing substyle

💋 Modern gyaru - gyaru showing up in Egg Magazine from late 2010s till now, they have a very toned down and casual look
